Privacy policy

REMAX ELEVATE, Brokerage (Independently Owned & Operated), 6-9889 Markham Rd., Markham, ON L6E 0B7 (“we”, “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect on remaxelevate.com and in the Elevate Hub (hub.remaxelevate.com), the app our agents and staff use, how we use it, and the choices you have. We follow Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).

Information we collect

• When you contact us (forms, chat, showing requests, home valuations): your name, email, phone, message and the property or area you ask about, plus the consent you gave and when.
• Agents and staff using the Elevate Hub: name, contact details, RECO title, headshot, business information they enter (clients, deals, plans, notes, expenses), and usage needed to run the app.
• Connected social media accounts (optional, Elevate Hub only): see below.
• Technical information: device and browser type, pages viewed and approximate location from your IP address, used for security and to improve the site.

Connected social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn)

Agents and the office can choose to connect a Facebook Page, an Instagram professional account or a LinkedIn profile or page to the Elevate Hub so they can publish their own real estate posts from the Hub.

• What we access: only what the person approves on the Facebook, Instagram or LinkedIn sign-in screen, such as the list of Pages and Instagram accounts they manage, the name and ID of the account, and permission to publish posts and read basic engagement on posts made through the Hub.
• How we use it: to publish the posts the person creates, reviews and schedules in the Hub, and to show whether each post went out. We never post anything the person has not approved, never read private messages, and never sell or share this data with advertisers.
• How it is stored: access tokens are kept encrypted on our servers and are used only to publish that person’s approved posts. They are deleted when the account is disconnected.
• Disconnecting: at any time in the Hub (Settings → Connected accounts → Disconnect), or from Facebook (Settings → Apps and websites), Instagram (Settings → Apps and websites) or LinkedIn (Settings → Data privacy → Permitted services).

How we use personal information

• To answer your request and connect you with a REMAX ELEVATE agent.
• To send messages you agreed to receive. Every email includes a way to unsubscribe.
• To run the Elevate Hub for our agents and staff, and to meet our obligations under the Trust in Real Estate Services Act (TRESA), RECO rules, FINTRAC and our MLS® data agreements.
• To keep our systems secure and improve our services.

MLS® sold and leased information is shown only to registered agents as the Toronto Regional Real Estate Board’s rules allow.

Sharing

We share personal information only with the REMAX ELEVATE agent helping you, and with service providers that run our website and app (for example hosting, email delivery and AI tools that summarize or draft text for our agents), under contracts that protect it. Some providers may store data outside Canada. We do not sell personal information.

Registered users of our Virtual Office Website (VOW)

If you register to see sold and leased MLS® information, we collect your name and email address, record when you accepted the VOW Terms of Use (and which version), and log which sold or leased listings you view. We use this to give you access and to meet the MLS® rules of PropTx Innovations Inc. and the Toronto Regional Real Estate Board (TRREB). By registering you consent to this, and to our sharing these records with PropTx or TRREB on request for auditing, to investigate suspected misuse, or where the law requires. We keep them for at least 180 days after your access lapses.

Keeping and deleting information

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as the law requires (for example, transaction records under TRESA and FINTRAC). To ask us to delete your information, follow the steps on our data deletion page.

Your choices and rights

You can ask to see or correct the personal information we hold about you, withdraw consent to messages, or make a complaint. Contact our privacy officer at admin@remaxelevate.com or 905-940-2222. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version.
